The Oxford House Activity Centre

Our Activity Centre is both a mixed formal and informal learning setting.

We take children aged 5+ into the Oxford House after-school Centre.

We offer English, Maths and Science support.

Whilst English language instruction and other academic support are important, we are also advocates of learner-chosen activities as a primary means for learning. The activity centre is packed with excellent activities to do and learn.

We believe that students also learn through their natural life experiences including play, personal interests, project creation, participation and management, books, elective classes, family, mentors and social interaction. Our environment ensures that students can learn holistically.

Oxford House activities encourage exploration, especially when initiated by the students themselves. The more personal the learning, the more meaningful, well-understood and therefore, useful it is to the student.

We provide a safe and interesting environment for self-directed education in a positive environment that better equips a child to handle innovation, collaboration, challenges and achievement in the “real world.”

Each child is a creative person who needs opportunities to experiment with a variety of materials and to develop social skills in an age appropriate setting.

A love for Learning

We instil love for learning and art. We do this in close partnership with parents by ensuring that your child is attending a warm and loving nursery. We also support parents with the foundations for discipline as these are laid down in the early years. We use different strategies as children develop greater independence, self regulation and responsibility. build character
