If another child hits your child, what should you do?

It depends on the situation and the age of the children involved. If the child is very young, it may be appropriate to talk to the child’s parent or caregiver about what happened and to work together to find a solution. If the child is older, it may be more appropriate to talk to the child directly and to explain why their behavior is not acceptable. It’s important to stay calm and try to find a solution that is fair to everyone involved. In all cases, it’s important to teach your child how to respond in a safe and appropriate manner.
