My daughter says she is ugly and fat?

It can be difficult to hear your child say negative things about themselves, but it’s important to remember that children often take cues from the adults around them. If you or someone else in the family frequently talks negatively about appearance or weight, your child may have picked up on this and internalized it. The best way to help your child is to talk to them and try to understand why they feel this way. Encourage them to see themselves in a more positive light and to focus on their strengths and abilities. It’s also important to model healthy body image and self-esteem in your own actions and words.
