Babies typically begin to make vowel-like sounds around 2-3 months of age, and begin to coo and make more complex sounds around 4-7 months of age. They may start to say their first words around 12-18 months of age, but every baby develops at their own pace. It’s important to remember that every child is different and will reach milestones at different times. It’s always best to consult with your pediatrician if you have concerns about your child’s development.
